Saturday Morning

I left Kyle’s place in Palo Alto and showed up at the gym 30 minutes later ready to get busy. Nicole called me and explained her eventful Friday night so I listened + inclined walked. I wonder if anyone thought I was talking to myself??

I didn’t take any pictures so I have included pictures of birds exercising… This is a kiwi going through rehab with a treadmill…

After our convo, I ran for just 10 minutes at 7.7 mph (1.25 miles). I hopped off the machine and went into the exercise room to complete 1 round of Jessica’s At-Home Cardio Blast:

  • 50 jumping jacks
  • 20 alternating lunges (I added 8 lb. arm weights)
  • 10 tuck jumps
  • 20 squats
  • 60 seconds of high knees
  • 10 squat jumps
  • 10 burppes
  • 60 second jump rope
  • 30 seconds mountain climbers
  • 25 push ups
  • 1 minute in plank position

The new machines at the gym aren’t hooked up to the TV and both Giada from Food Network and Hannah Montana were on!! You’re killin’ me TRS! (<– our gym)

I hopped on 1 of the old stair masters so I could listen to Miley (I’m young at heart, get over it). I was on that for 10 minutes before I went back to the exercise room for another round of Jessica’s cardio blast!

HAHAHA birds love exercise

Sufficiently tired out, I stretched and left the gym. I decided now was as good as a time as any to temporarily cancel my kickboxing membership.

SAY WHAT?!

I’m doing a lot of traveling this summer and I have FIVE exercise related Groupons to work through:

  • 1 month of unlimited yoga at YogaSource
  • 3 apparatus + 1 mat class at Los Gatos Pilates
  • 10-class yoga pass to Almaden Yoga
  • 4 pure barre classes in Los Gatos
  • 4 drop-in classes at Ariel Dance Productions

Ack! Too many! After July 20th, I’ll take a break from kickboxing for two months and use up all of those to test out different forms of yoga and pilates. I’m so curious and have no idea how vinyasa differs from power or ashtanga! I’ll need to re-read Fitnessista’s post Getting Started With Yoga.

Anyways….

I came home, had a fatty bowl of cereal, some crackers + greek yogurt, and mmm a Dr. Pepper! Nicole and I also made plans to attend the Bay Area’s FitBloggin’ Meetup on July 9th hosted by Susan of Food Food Body Body, best known to me as Foodie McBody of Twitter.
