Quick recap of Friday before moving on to the weekend happenings…

My last sorority invite of the year was a success :) I got ready with my friend Kelly, donned a ridiculously bright (and tight) dress, curled my hair, snacked on pizza and chips, hydrated well, and had a blast.

I went with my friend Blake (the same guy I went to Vegas with a couple weeks ago) and he was a great date. Not to mention he is tall enough that I was able to wear 4 inch heels! Priorities.

We all hung out at Kelly’s apartment for a couple hours and then walked over to the sorority to meet up with the other 100+ girls and their dates. At 9:30, we boarded the buses and made our way to the invite venue. I’m not sure exactly where we were, but I’m guessing it was in Santa Monica? The highlight of the venue was the view. The back deck was right on the beach. Too bad security wouldn’t let anyone down to the sand.

It was very fitting to the luau theme!

All in all, it was a great night!

Saturday was by far one of the laziest days of the semester. I wasn’t out of bed until noon, and once I was, the laziness continued. I caught up on TV shows… The Office, Parks and Recreation, Cougar Town, 30 Rock, SNL, House, Mad Men, Hart of Dixie, and… I think that’s it… wow. I’m not getting those 7 hours back. Oh well.

I had dinner at the dining hall with my friends Allison and Ezana, ate too much carrot cake and ice cream, waited a while for my sugar coma to wear off, and did 30 minutes of incline walking while reading blogs. I kind of felt like I was half-asleep all day and I had no intention of getting work done. Luckily, my first final is on Friday… so I have a long time to prepare. It was a relaxing day, but a great day nonetheless.

Sunday was a lot more productive! I woke up at 8:30, ate some breakfast, and got to work on my final essay for American History. A couple hours into the work, I decided to start watching a new TV show. Half the laptop screen was essay, half the laptop screen was Hulu. And talk about guilty pleasures… the show I started is GCB. It’s a combination of comedy, drama, and omgwhyamiwatchingthis. But I can’t stop.

Ok, that’s a lie. I abandoned my computer at 2 PM in favor of a run and some coffee. I ventured about two miles to a downtown Starbucks and slurped down a coffee with SF hazelnut and a water.

I wasted some time browsing e-mails/Instagram/Twitter and then ran back to USC grounds. This was my first outdoor run since the Nike She Runs LA 10K two weeks ago, and my 9:00 pace surprisingly wasn’t too terrible.

I’m ready to get back into longer runs and more endurance-based workouts. I miss being able to run 6+ miles without wanting to die.

After the run, I wasted another 35 minutes playing around on my iPad while chillin’ on the elliptical. Telling myself that I can’t read blogs unless I’m working out is serious motivation ;)

Note to self- CLEAN the iPad and never use a normal cup for water again. It was impossible to gracefully drink the water without spilling it all over myself. I would have used my CamelBak, but it needs a serious cleaning… and I have no dishwasher… a dilemma and major FWP.

Now I’m off to a sorority recruitment meeting. Here goes three long hours…

Q4U: Does anyone else watch GCB? I’m not judging…

Q4U: Any good show that you have recently started watching? I always need suggestions.

  1. You look so cute in your dress for the luau invite! Is it American Apparel?? Sounds like it was a fun night and I’m right there with you about the need for guys that are tall enough so I can wear my heels! Sounds like Saturday was just the relaxing day that you needed! I haven’t seen GCB but I’ve heard Girls is an awesome show! I haven’t watched it yet but am looking fwd to it!
