I’m looking……. for a new place to live!!! Hopefully I’ll find a room or new pad in either San Francisco or Palo Alto soon! (more on that in a bit)

On Friday night, Nicole left for the gym (booya she ran 7 miles!) and then when she came home at 8 I finally closed my work computer, laced up my shoes, and hit the pavement for 5.5 glorious nighttime miles in the cool air. I ran into my old coworker Robyn and chatted with her for a bit before stopping at the gym for another day of LiveFit (legs).

It was one of those days where running felt amazing!

This morning Nicole and I got an early start – we ran together to the Quiksilver trails and then split up. We both ran sans music and it was a nice change!

I wanted to run for hills training purposes and she wanted to hike and absorb the beauty/clean air/anti-LAness of it all.

I rounded out the 6.5 mile loop with a few more miles to total 9.5. When I got home, all I wanted was a cold smoothie!!

Nicole did 8 miles… girl is getting her running-mojo back.

Spinach, protein powder, banana, Greek yogurt, tahini! Nicole also made a smoothie and then we showered and whatnot because we had a full day ahead of us.

After an hour drive, we parked in SF’s Mission District. We checked out one apartment and then ventured to the next. Along the way, we snapped some photos. The weather was amazing – a sunny day in San Francisco is rare!

After walking about a mile and half, we checked out another apartment and then headed to a late lunch. The Mission District has many authentic Mexican restaurants, and we decided to eat at Las Palmeras on a whim.

With Mary looking down on us, we each dug into awesome burritos. I had a chicken burrito and Nicole got the super veggie. Their salsa verde was delicious, but I wish my burrito was a bit spicier.

The burritos fueled us for our walk back to the car. From there, we drove to the SOMA district, hopped on the bus, and now we are snacking before tonight’s Still Time concert at Slim’s.

This show will be bittersweet. :( During college, Still Time played at many local venues. Two of the members met at their Cal Poly dorm freshman year. Precious. Below are a few photos from St. Patrick’s Day’s 6 am show at a bar during our senior year (bangs!) and a more recent Labor Day 2010 show at The Cliffs in Pismo Beach (redhead!).

still time old shows

Still Time is breaking up in a week…. this will be their last Nor Cal show and next weekend they bid adieu to the music world in the city they started in, San Luis Obispo. Sigh…

Hope you’re enjoying your weekend… if not, go buy a burrito and blast some folk/indie tunes.

Question: What is your favorite type of salsa? Mild, spicy, green, red, roasted, chipotle?!

p.s. know of anybody looking for a housemate in Palo Alto or SF??

  1. Chipotle Salsa is all I ever want (after never trying it until the last like… 2 weeks). There’s a type at Trader Joe’s that I want to make sweet spicy salsa love to.

ALSO good luck with the apartment hunt, I’m doing the same…. It’s a toughie.

  2. Good luck with the apartment search! Finding an apt in the city is super challenging but I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you! And that sounds like a fun day spent in the city– mmm Mexican food in the Mission really is the best!
