Back from Portland! Dreaming about Pok Pok Wings…
Posted by Lauren
Hello there! I returned to the Bay Area late last night full of good food, tasty drinks, fun friendmories, Nike gear straight from the source, and one sexy finisher’s medal from the Rock ‘n’ Roll Portland Half Marathon.
Oh, sorry, is my medal distracting you? NBD.
Katie and Doug were amazing hosts…
THANK YOU x3840382 for hauling me around the beautiful city of Portland, letting me crash at your place, and making sure I was well fed haha. There are so many things I want to write about but first I’ve got to get all my iPhone/DSLR photos loaded on my computer!
So, I will get to the Portland recaps starting on Tuesday. That’ll make for mouth-watering WIAW content…
Case in point.
Despite last night’s 1 am donut-fueled long term parking treasure hunt, I managed to wake up just shy of 6 am to go with Nicole to the gym. That girl confuses me. Two weekends ago she said she never wants to work out with me, but then this weekend her blog post indicated otherwise!
Naturally I called her out on it and was ecstatic when she agreed to hit the gym with me this morning before work :)
We each rode on bicycles for 30 minutes before parting ways. I’m not sure what she did, but I got 1/2 way through LiveFit’s shoulders workout before it was time to get ready for work.
1.5 eggs = my post-workout-snack aka my pre-office-oat-bran:
I really need to clean my room! All this traveling equates to clothes errywhere. But that microwave egg was perfecto. ps. Real breakfast = oat bran + banana.
Lunch = 1/2 chili + 1/2 lentil soup, fuji apple, and a Snickers Marathon bar I grabbed right after the race.
For dinner I grabbed a quick, over-priced salad from zpizza. I just decided that zpizza, while delicious, is only worth it when you have a coupon of some sort. Which I did not have. Blerg.
The chipotle ranch dressing was amazing, just so you know.
And now I’m riding the train back from the Dogpatch (southern SF area).
I did a little apartment search and can’t wait to fall asleep in an hour.
I might….
…..fall asleeeeep…
…right here….
-zzzzzzzzz
ps. I’m most likely dreaming about the best tasting food item of the entire weekend: Pok Pok’s Vietnamese Fish Sauce Wings (via Whiskey Soda Lounge)
pps. I’ll explain on Tuesday!
