Small Cups, Need Mugs
Posted by Lauren
Wednesday morning I woke up and carpooled to work about an hour earlier than usual to allow for a decent treadmill workout. I did not pre-plan anything, but as soon as I stepped on the belt I was ready to treat it like a track.
5 minute warmup
6 x 400 @ 7:00 pace
800m jog between sprints
(Are they even called sprints? Intervals?)
Cool down, abs, short plank
After a quick shower n’ all that jazz, I sat down at my desk with a bowl of cinnamon banana oat bran and coffee. All I’ve got to say is that the coffee cups are too tiny!!
I should invest in a pretty mug (or two!) for work. I have the Big Bear mug Fran made everyone over NYE, but I like looking at it as artwork under my monitor instead of leaving coffee stains on it.
If you wanted to steal my lunch, simply locate the ginormous tupperware in the back of the work fridge. I am slooowly making a dent in it and could use some help!
This week’s concoction includes:
- One 10-serving bag of
frozenroasted mixed vegetables - Cauliflower, roasted, one medium-sized head
- 15 ounces fresh black beans
- Two grilled chicken breasts, shredded
While prepping the food on Monday – such a lovely holiday! – I realized that my luck mix quickly became a TON of food…
Side note: Also on Monday, while my lunch veggies roasted away, Kyle made Thai red curry nearly from scratch. His fish sauce to coconut milk ratio was just right! He must have honed his Thai cooking skills during the 6 weeks he spent in Thailand when we first started to date…………
Darrin’s unwanted coconut milk.
spices + chili sauce + coconut milk > > chicken > > vegetables > > fish sauce + brown sugar
At least as good as a restaurant! < < not just saying that to be nice!
Question: What kind of coffee and tea cups/glasses/mugs do you use at work?

I have this maroon mug which I use as a cereal bowl BUT it also happens to be the PERFECT size to cook one egg-in-a-cup. I’ll be sad whenever I have to leave it. And maybe I’ll take it with me…. a memento.
