Reposado Again?! Okay.
Posted by Lauren
Hello! Friday. The 1st of June. Day 1 of my birthday month the best month of the year! Heh. Heh. I’m not sure what this weekend holds, but tomorrow is BFD! Nicole has been to this mid-sized, all-day concert for multiple artists at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View once before…. But this will be my “first time.” Aww.
All it takes is Angels & Airwaves and I’m all ears! Bonus: Of Monsters and Men, Jane’s Addiction, Fun, The Limousines, Silversun Pickups… any of your favorites on the list?
Changing the subject.
I did not mention it as it happened, but on Wednesday night my [work] team went out to dinner at Reposado in Palo Alto. I can barely believe that this is my third time dining at this upscale Mexican restaurant in just three short months! (First time with Nicole, mom, aunt Cori, cousin Morgan; second time no blog post.)
The menu below is entirely vegetarian. I ordered from the full menu during my other two visits, so this time I mixed it up and ordered the Queso a la Parrilla (which didn’t have any queso/cheese) from the veg menu.
I selected their pomegranate margarita, having tried the strawberry version during my last visit. I thought the pomegranate looked great, but it was ultimately too sweet. The sugar-lined rim was a bit over the top.
The seven of us ordered 2 chips/salsa cones, 2 fresh guacamole bowls, 2 ceviche trios (ahi tuna with grapefruit salsa, coconut lime scallops, salmon tartare, plantain chips), and 1 appetizer serving of tamales.
The tamale wedges (chicken with salsa verde; mushroom with guajillo salsa) were delightful! My mom and her coworkers went to Reposado the following evening (before a rocket launch!) and I recommended them highly.
There’s my meal below… zero queso, lots of tofu. Hey Reposado chefs, could you press your tofu just a smidge more?
And also, why chips? I’m confused.
This may seem totally out of left field, but when I saw the bathroom sink at Reposado, I had to take a picture. Sinks can be so beautiful. < < Creepo Alert?
While Wednesday’s after work festivities included margaritas and great food, Thursday’s after work festivities included a tour of the glamorous parts of Mountain View…
Just keeeeding. I ran a 5-mile loop near my work and made sure it included 2 overpasses for some “hill” action.
The weather was just right, but my legs felt like lead.
Last night Nicole and I kept it easy at home, watched the latest episode of Mad Men and called it a night! We carpooled early again, squeezing in a morning workout at our respective facilities. I spent 30 minutes on an elliptical/stair master hybrid contraption before tackling LiveFit’s day 26 shoulder and abs workout. I almost fell asleep during the seated arnold press sets!
Have a great weekend!

Things I’d never imagine getting at a Mexican joint (I don’t care HOW upscale it is): tofu. potato chips. NO QUESO!
You’re weird, ol’ lead legs.
