Happenings

Well…. It sure feels like I have abandoned the ol’ blog. It’s strange because there is so much that I want to say, but then I think about sitting down, typing it all out, and editing pictures. I’m either really busy or really lazy. Let’s go with the former.
Anywhooo… Some scenes from this week (and last! It has been a while!)
I prepped another giant veggie roast for the week: 2 eggplant, a head of cauliflower, some large carrots, celery, a zucchini from our garden, an onion, and some mushrooms and broccoli. The 2 sweet potatoes (top left) were coated in cinnamon and maple syrup; that’s probably why the family demolished them in a couple hours!
We spent a lot of time last weekend going through boxes; with Lauren moving and a new shed being built, there was a lot of “junk” to sift through.
I found a family pic from the old days; my mom was (and still is) such a hottie!
All the cleaning was fueled by Indian food from Chaat Cafe. Garlic naan drenched in curry… Yup.
Can I have a moment of silence for my lovely bed? It was stolen from me. Lauren and I switched beds because her new room is too small for a queen bed. She took my double bed, buuuuuut I took her old room! Yep, I’m in the process of moving all my stuff… Slowly but surely I’ll be all settled in (that is, until I pack up for the move down to USC in a month)!
E-Stem on my right hip flexer (psoas muscle) is becoming a nightly habit. I’m so glad my mom bought this little gadget at the Rock ‘n Roll Seattle expo! Hurts so good.
You know what tastes good after an 8.5 mile run? Anything! But especially oat bran/yogurt, tortillas and cream cheese (obsessed with this combo), and a box from the Whole Foods hot bar. Eaten throughout a few hours of course.
Speaking of working out, I’ve been doing really well with morning workouts at my work’s gym. I try to be there by 6:30 so I can be showered and working by 8:15. I never thought I’d be motivated for morning workouts, and I’m amazing myself. Ironically, it really helps energize me for the day. Another cool thing? For the days that I am dropped off at the gym, I get to ride a sweet cruiser over to my building. Weeeeee!
On Tuesday, I took the train up to the city so I could work at the SF office. I had lunch with my future roomie, Allison, in the Crocker Galleria. Turns out that our offices are right across the street from each other and 10 floors up! Next time I’ll be spying on her :)
I ended the week on a high note, with a couple early miles… So early that I had the whole place to myself for a while! And no, Jordan, I didn’t have a dance party…. I decided to save it for my bedroom. Maybe next time I’ll be wild enough?
And the rest of Friday- enough caffeine to focus on 25,000 rows of Excel data, a bowl of cereal and banana, foosball at lunch, and a nerdy photo opp. TGIF, indeed!
So that’s that! Things are going well and I’m trying to soak up what’s left of summer. It’s hard to believe that in five weeks I will be headed back to college craziness!
Until then, I’ll be enjoying the weekend with my Bay Area friends and family :)
