Lauren has safely landed in New York…. but I’m here to show you why the West Coast is the best coast ;)
This afternoon, I enjoyed a fun day at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk with one of my great high school friends, Cassie. The company she interns for was hosting a day of fun for their employees and friends/family. Cassie asked if I wanted to tag along, and I was totally game! Free lunch, rides, and sunshine? Sign me up.
We had a lot of fun going on the rides and enjoying the fresh ocean air. We joke that we are “corporate women” because we work work work during the week, and it felt like we were little kids enjoying summer today. You gotta have one of those days every once in a while.
After a few rushes of adrenaline and some cups of coffee, we drove over to downtown Santa Cruz for a little bit of shopping. We hit up Crossroads (my favorite second hand clothes shop) and found a few discounted gems.
And then it was back to San Jose for the night.
But the fun didn’t stop then. My mom convinced me to join her for a run, and we headed out at dusk. Running just before dark is the best.
We started with smiles… then hiked two miles… then ran two miles…
and ended with smiles… then lounged on some patio chairs.
Such a good way to spend a Sunday! Although Lauren’s photo of gelato in New York might be a teensy bit better ;)

While I can’t necessarily agree with you that the West is best when it comes to coasts (haven’t spent enough time to accurately compare) I DO love the rides. GREAT shot from the swings, that should be on some sort of brochure or something.
The weekend was wonderful and I’m already having a glorious week. That could be because I’m not working, so I’m just basking in the sun and eating tasty wraps every meal…. but I’m not worried.

It looks like you had such a great time at the boardwalk! What a super fun day! I’ve been wanting to go there or to some theme park lately too- It’s been years since I’ve been! And ohh that gelato does look fab!
