Day 4 in NYC – carrot juice, oatmeal, coffee, water. What’s up, Thursday morning?

During my lunch break I decided it was time to fiiinally see Central Park. It is easily one of the top 5 destinations on a New York trip, am I right? On a related side note, the AC system in our training room is broken. To combat the heat, the instructor (Mike) said we could wear whatever we want. Naturally, I took that to mean “gym clothes OK.” When Mike let us out for lunch, I walked outside and turned on my Garmin. It took about 1/2 a mile to locate satellites, and by that time I was almost to…

Radio City Music Hall

What actually goes on in there?

About a mile into the run I hit the southern tip of Central Park.

Goodbye Concrete Jungle, Hello Park Jungle

I felt like Mimi-Siku, but in reverse. And on a smaller scale.

Did you know that real-life Mimi-Siku (Sam Huntington) became friends with Macaulay Culkin in 7th grade – before J2J?

**just noticed that’s not in English, but I am blogging from my phone and don’t feel like changing it!**

The run was half exercise, half sightseeing. Aaaand, POSE.

Running to the Subway to make it back to class on time….

Before heading upstairs, I stopped at a quick place around the corner from our training building. Hale & Hearty, serves made-to-order sandwiches/salads and has a handful of soup options. I went with a chopped spinach salad base, added red onion, green apples, grapes, red quinoa, bell peppers, turkey, and asked for their mustard vinaigrette on the side.

This “fast food” salad was so good! Can this chain plz come to California?! (Start with NorCal, thankyouverymuch)

Once class ended, I did a lot of exploring and eating (hah). I started with Brooklyn, more on that later!

Question: When you were growing up, did you LOVE J2J and/or Home Improvement? Who was your celebrity friend crush? Mary-Kate and Ashley, Topanga, and Alex Mack (the silver goo blob)

  1. Yay for getting to go out and see more of the city and visit Central Park. Sounds like the ac being out actually worked in your favor! And I love Radio City Music Hall- I saw the Rockettes there over the holidays, but I think they do normal concerts too. And the pictures of the park are gorgeous and then what a fantastic salad spot! I agree- please come to Norcal ASAP!

  2. There was a (not-so) brief span in my life when I tried wearing hats a lot. I forced my mom to buy me oddly colored beanies and, for whatever reason, kept rocking it despite the fact that I’m not a hat girl. It was my father who finally cracked the big scoop: I was just trying to emulate my idol, Alex Mack.

    Nice try, Jordan.

And ps, every time you make an old school pop culture reference, I just wanna be like GET OUTTA MY BRAIN.

  3. I feel like whenever I’m told I can wear what I want it ALWAYS means that gym-wear is acceptable. I’m glad someone else agrees! Your New York Pictures are definitely making me jealous and antsy to travel!
