Some Fun Things

Guess who is nervous about running a half marathon today? ME.

It’s nice and early, and we are headed to Salinas for the Salinas Valley Half Marathon. My mom is my cheuffer for the 1.5 hour drive… Which means I get to sit in the back seat and blog keep myself busy so I don’t think about running 13.1 miles!

So…. Onto some fun things from this week:

I bought some awesome headphones and am loving them! Such a difference from my little earbuds.

Wednesday was a rest day… I opted out of the gym and into a relaxing night at my dad’s house. Hottub, birthday cake jelly bellies, a late dinner, and way too much ice cream. Yup.

On Wednesday night, I sat down for a quick dinner with my mom: bbq chicken sandwiches for her, leftover veggies for me. A couple hours later, David joined us for a short nighttime run/walk. I love those. I also baked a loaf of banana bread for Friday’s breakfast.

The best Friday work tradition: Cake Friday! This week we had red velvet cake from Costco. Next Friday is my turn to bring in cupcakes… I’m thinking red velvet and hazelnut nutella.

Friday night… I made three more loaves of nanner bread for the family reunion this weekend. I’m headed there straight after the race and it’s always more fun when you come bearings gifts, especially of the baked sort.

I ended Friday night and started the weekend with some much needed friend time. We walked around, bought stuff, tried on weird jewelry and accessories, took pictures, and pretended we were 12 year old girls. That’s always fun, right?
