This weekend, one of my best friends visited from the Univ. of Arizona. Remember, it was her birthday last week? Anyways, one of her birthday gifts was a flight to visit me! (Really, this seems like a gift for me.)
This has been an extremely packed weekend, but it has been a lot of fun! I definitely feel like we have made the most of her short LA trip. I feel like I need to sleep for 48 hours straight to recoup, but there is always time to sleep!
I picked Jessi up from the airport at 11 and we spent a few hours roaming around the USC neighborhood and checking out some social events.
We started withs some eggs and cereal… we sure needed the fuel for the full day ahead of us!
My sorority’s philanthropy event, Anchor Splash, started a couple hours later.
We hungout with one of our guy friends from home (and his frat), and then enjoyed the crazy Anchor Splash festivities.
All of the fraternities performed a dance/lip-sync… very entertaining… am I right?
After five hours in the hot sun, it was time for some lunch. We headed to Freebirds for some burrito bowls. Totally hit the spot.
Then it was naptime!
Later that night, Jessi and I got dolled up for a fraternity invite.
We went to dinner at Wolfgang Puck at LA Live. I had an awesome garden salad and a delicious raspberry lemon drop.
After dinner, we took a bus to the actual event in Hollywood. I’m not sure exactly where we were, but it was a castle with 5 floors and amazing views! Someone said it was some famous rapper’s house…? Regardless, it was a great location.
It was such a fun night!
GAME DAY! We woke up pretty early, put on USC gear, and walked over to campus for the tailgates.
As always, things were getting crazy.
Before heading to The Coliseum, we snapped an obligatory Tommy Trojan pic. I love how easily Jessi fit in with the USC crowd. (Either she fit in really well, or I’m just really good at brainwashing people to root for USC…)
We didn’t stay for the whole game because it was super hot, but I think she got the full effect of SC football, and that’s what matters! And we won- 27 to 9. A lot better than last weekend’s upset. On the way back to my apartment, we stopped for some Chipotle. Then, we took another mid-day nap.
Her last night here :(
I’ll miss my partner in crime!
Q4U: What was the highlight of your weekend?!
