I really need to get some sleep, but I’m so far behind on blogging that I just can’t let tonight slip behind as well (p.s. I just had one of the best weekends ever and I can’t wait to post photos). So, what happened tonight that can’t wait?
It was this lovely lady’s birthday!
Photo above comes from our step-brother Steve’s wedding to the beautiful Amy (photo of them at the bottom of this post). Nicole was supposed to write about their wedding, but I don’t think she did… It was a stunning wedding, and Lauretta did an unbelievable job transforming our Grandma’s backyard into a magical ceremony space for the happy couple, family, and friends. She pours her heart into this family and we truly treasure her selflessness, joy, and good humor. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
After work I met my dad + Lauretta, Steve + Amy, and Katie at The Fish Market, a local seafood chain. We split two orders of calamari before our entrees arrived.
I chose the Chipotle Rubbed Swordfish Tacos with tomatillo salsa and queso fresco, along with a side of ranchero-style black beans.
For dessert, we split the Crème Brulée and spared the other patrons from hearing our rendition of “Happy Birthday.” We are so considerate :)
After dinner they bring you soft, chocolate-covered, gooey fish mints.
I don’t remember them from previous visits, but I guess they have been around for a while?
Katie acted like she didn’t want to pose for the group photo after dinner, but I think she was just showing off her “mean muggin” look…

Aw what a sweet post for Lauretta! I’m sure she is reading this and smiling! Looks like you had a great time at Fish Market too- I loveee creme brulee and am intrigued by those chocolate fishies at the end! I’m down for chocolate as a way to end any meal though ;) Can’t wait to hear about this weekend!
