Megan and Paul’s Napa Wedding
Posted by Lauren
This will be my final post about my friend Megan’s wedding… if you want to read and look at photos from previous posts, here ya go!
- Bridal Shower
- Snippets of Megan’s Bachelorette Party
- Bachelorette Party Ideas (in Vegas!)
- Build up to Megan + Paul’s Wedding
Where did we leave off? Ahh yes, the traffic and highway closure on our way from Napa to St. Helena. Fear not, we made it to the chapel on time!
With last-minute makeup touch ups, a friendly shot of vodka, and bouquets in hand, we were ready to walk down the aisle! The ceremony was heartwarming and intimate from start to finish. :)
The newlyweds drove off in a sleek Benz with a custom license plate. You can just see the happiness on Paul’s face as he buckles up!
The bridesmaids, flower girls, and bride’s mom (Deb) took the limo back to Silverado (Napa) for the cocktail hour and reception. They set us up in the middle of the golf course and the weather was perrrrfect. It was a blast to see more of my favorite AOII girls…. oh, and Kyle! (He excellently juggled a trip to Napa for the wedding amidst his parents’ Bay Area visit from Colorado.)
The bottom picture is one of my favorites of the night! We’re missing a few of the girls but this is almost everyone from Cal Poly! During the cocktail hour, a three-man jazz band played softly in the background while we chatted, laughed, sampled food, and enjoyed a few drinks from the bar (I loved their signature peach mojito drink)!
I took a few “scenery” pictures for those of you who enjoy the finer details!
Hold up. Hold up. Let’s take a closer look at that dessert table – cupcakes from Sift Cupcake & Dessert Bar, bite-size desserts courtesy of Megan’s family friend.
Peach, Blueberry, Chocolate/Coconut, and Maple Bacon Caramel – I tried them all and Blueberry was the clear winner!
Soon it was time to sit down, eat, and toast to Paul and Megan’s bright future as Mr. and Mrs. :) Her dad’s speech was AMAZING. Make sure to look at the photo of all of his notes. Adorable.
The Best Man and Maid of Honor also had terrific speeches! Props to Kristin for hers!
Want to see what we ate? Herb potato gnocchi, summer peach salad, and sautéed black cod!
And then it was time to: Dance! Throw the bouquet! Dance! Drink! Garter toss! Dance! Cake cutting! Speech! Dance! Drink! Cupcakes x3! Dance!
Their DJ was spectacular. And, he listened to my request to play E-40′s Tell Me When To Go (same request I made at Krista’s wedding!!) It’s a winner.
We all ended the night at Silverado’s bar to keep the party going just a wee bit longer. I was so tired after all that had happened that day! The entire weekend was well-organized and stress free; you can tell how much planning and hard work both families put into this wedding! Best of luck to the happy couple as they start this new chapter in their lives!! :)
