Double Digits
Posted by Nicole
Today was my last day at home, and I spent it how everyone would spend the last day of “vacation”… running a lot in the hot hot heat. (haven’t listened to that band in forever)
Before the run, I fueled up with a honey oat tortilla, swiss cheese wedge, spinach, 2 eggs/2 whites, and some bleu cheese dressing. I’m weird and my food is weirder.
At about 9, my mom, David, and I left the house and headed for the nearby Almaden Lake trail.
We ran about 4.5 miles together, and then split up for a while. They kept going and I turned back to start walking. My shoes were feeling terrible and I knew that it wasn’t a good idea to do that many miles in them. I got kinda antsy and ran about a mile, then they met up with me, and we all ran the last bit home.
All in all, I did 10 miles and I think my mom and David did about 12? They seriously rock.
It felt good to get to double digits, even if only ~6.5 were actual running miles. The first long run of my new workout schedule was a success!
And now it’s back to reality down in sunny SoCal.
PS- It’s big/little weeeeeeeeeek. Time to get crafty!

When and where was your last “long” run?
Any running shoe suggestions that are lighter than Asics and more supportive than Nike Frees?
