Yellow Mystery Spot
Posted by Lauren
First of all, I sat down to start this post while enjoying breakfast – a heartwarming bowl of oat bran with Greek yogurt and coffeeeeee. Then, I got busy and decided to finish it up at lunch!
Second of all, where did this come from?!!?
There is a yellow mystery goo surrounding our driveway! What is this and why won’t it go away?
Anywho…
Things are back on track around here… Wednesday was both productive and fun. After taking a fitness break on Monday and Tuesday (travel, sleepiness, laziness), I felt recharged yesterday.
Week 2 – Day 4 (my 12-week workout plan)
Scheduled: bike to work, track workout – 5×1000 at 5k pace with 3 min walk break in between intervals
Completed: did not bike to work :( but I will on Friday! On the treadmill:
- 5 minute warm up
- 1000m sprint at 8.6 mph/6:59 minute
- 3 minute walk
- did intervals a total of 5 times
After light stretching, I completed Tuesday’s missed core workout – scissor kicks, double crunches, toe touch crunches, and these:
Sweet Spot: jumping back into tough speedwork and making it through!
Sticky Spot: keeping good form on the core exercises. I sped through them to get ready for…
Date Night!
Dinner at Taqueria La Bamba (580 Rengstorff Avenue, Mountain View)
I’ve always wanted to try this family-owned restaurant – whenever I drive by I remind myself to eventually stop in. I’m glad we did, because 1. it’s huge 2. it’s fast 3. it’s authentic (or at least claims to be). My only gripe: they use yellow light bulbs in the dining room area (why?!), so our burrito pictures look like the yellow driveway goo took over my camera lens.
They’ve got a salsa bar and complimentary chips for everyone. I chose a regular burrito with shrimp and it was huge. Bang for the buck! Half of it sits in my fridge for tonight’s dinner. :) After dinner, we went to Cheryl Burke Dance studio for week 2 of Lindy Hop lessons!
The hour flew by! We reviewed a lot and learned how to properly spin in a circle while dancing the traditional “triple step.” After class, Kyle and I practiced for another 15 minutes. We’ve got it down!
This yellow stuff is everywhere! It’s attacking my car…
