Laziness, Chocolate, Workouts
Posted by Nicole
Today was a day of pure laziness. I woke up after a wonderful 12 hour slumber, made a big breakfast, and then… sat for a few hours. I watched the USC vs. Arizona game while watching Netflix and catching up on internet news on the iPad. Our generation is obsessed with screens… or is that just me?
I watched “Morning Glory” and really really liked it. If you have Netflix and enjoy romantic comedies, give it a shot. Plus, Patrick Wilson is a hottie.
I eventually got my lazy bum out of the house and drove to Old Navy with Lindsey. I went with a mission – to get these dark green boots. They were less than $40…. such a steal.
After Old Navy, we went to Whole Foods and I stocked up on some essentials. Then, I made a delicious bowl of oat bran with banana and… chocolate chips. It’s all about balance.
Then I went to the gym!
Let’s talk about fitness…
Unlike my sis, I don’t do the day-by-day workout recaps. I like to look back on my overall fitness of the week- tally up the running miles, count the rest days, and reflect on how I felt throughout the week.
Sunday- 4.5 mile walk in Downtown LA; 3.1 mile treadmill run, 25 mins bike
Monday- 2 hour dance practice; cardio fun! 3.5 mile run, 10 mins bike, 2.5 mile run, 15 mins elliptical
Tuesday- 2 hour dance practice; 1 mile run and 2.25 mile walk on the treadmill (I carried weights for the last 10 minutes… felt the burn)
Wednesday- 40 min walk in the morning while studying; nighttime walking warmup, 4 mile run, cooldown
Thursday- 2 hour dance practice
Friday- REST!
Saturday- 25 mins treadmill walk, 15 mins elliptical
Overall, 14.1 running miles, a few fun dance practices, and some biking/elliptical action. I’m hoping for cooler weather soon so I can run outside without burning up! I’m also hoping to clean up my eating this upcoming week because it’s not fair to build my fitness while eating like cr@p.
Hope you are having a fun Halloween weekend. I’m still not sure if this weekend or next weekend is “Halloweekend.”

I watched Morning Glory last night! It was so cute – I love Rachel McAdams and Diane Keaton. Oh my gosh, I just started putting chocolate chips in my oatmeal…so good. It’s definitely all about 80/20, right?! That’s awesome that you’re on the dance team…I have ZERO coordination!
You are so right- I almost always am looking at 2+ screens when I’m watching tv/checking my phone/on the internet. I saw that movie when it was in theaters and thought it was pretty cute! I love Rachel McAdams so I’d pretty much see anything she is in! Love the addition of the chocolate chips to your oat bran.. yum!
