Giorgio’s + Favorite Hairstyle

Giorgio’s Italian Food & Pizzeria
1445 Foxworthy Ave, San Jose, CA
Website – Yelp
On Sunday night, I joined the family at my step-bro-to-be‘s birthday dinner at Giorgio’s, a classic Italian restaurant in the suburbs of San Jose. Nathan turned 25 a few days ago (happy birthday!) and I’m guessing he picked this spot due to its authentic Italian food and overflowing baskets of complimentary bread. He can take those DOWN.
Between 8th and 9th grade, my mom, Nicole, and I moved within walking distance of my new high school. Giorgio’s is actually a few blocks from that school… And we would often take family walks to the Foxworthy shopping center and eat at either Giorgio’s or this place called Big Dogs that served the best diner-style hamburgers. That was before Nicole became a vegetarian, obviously. At the time, I did not realize that Giorgio’s had been in the same location since 1958!! Talk about a lot of history! /Tangent.
I ordered the Cacciatore – tender chicken and Italian sausage, sauteed with onions, mushrooms, green bell peppers, and zucchini, flamed with white wine and simmered in a fresh marinara sauce over spaghetti “al dente.”
I thought this was a great choice, and I was happy to take home about 1/2 of this *HUGE* portion for Monday’s dinner. My mom took an onion ring off David’s plate, so I asked if I could have one as well. Onion rings are my FAVORITE.
David insisted I retake the food picture haha….
After dinner I went back to my mom’s house. She’s got cable and the Grammy’s were about to air… not like that’s the only thing that brought me there ;) Really though, I haven’t seen her since our bridal expo adventure and I wanted to catch up with her and David a little more. Lucky for me, they just returned from a trip to Yosemite and (like always) had pie with them.
I enjoyed 1.5 slices of rhubarb-strawberry pie while adjusting my calendar. Yup, I use the real paper-pencil type of calendar and I just LOVE it. Google calendar? No thanks, too high tech. In case you want to join, I’m running back-to-back 1/2 marathons in September: San Jose Rock n Roll on 9/8 and the Petaluma Clo-Cow on 9/15. Let me know!!!
Fast forward 24 hours and you would have found me with the cacciatore leftovers and The Bachelor… I can’t wait for next week’s hometown dates!
When I left the gym last night, I got a text from my friend Megan. She said that the lady who did our hair for her wedding, the fabulous Kelly McCabe-Hamilton of Dollhouse Salon, recently pinned our hairstyles to her board. At the time I got Megan’s text message, my hair looked like this……..
Sexy, right? I swear that’s how I have my hair 70% of the time. BUT, I can clean up okay when professionals get involved…

I remember showing Kelly three completely different hairstyles on Pinterest and she melded them into one awesome hairstyle so easily. It had the tuck, side-swept, curly, loose, teased look I was hoping for. If you area a Bay Area local, I can’t recommend her enough!
And here are a few more gems from Megan’s wedding. She was such a gorgeous bride and I loved our bridesmaids dresses, bouquets, shoes, HAIR… everything.
Question: What’s your go-to hair style? Bun, ponytail, straight, wavy… Do you style your hair every morning? Any favorite products? I need to invest in another bottle of dry shampoo…. that stuff rocks.

I tend to wear my hair down curly every day because it’s the easiest.
When I get home I put it in a pony tail or anytime I’m working out.
I love Enjoy’s products!

I just bought a bottle of dry shampoo and I use it the second day I haven’t showered for work…but I can’t really tell the difference! Mine is Redken. Maybe I should try it on 3 day old hair and see if it helps? What kind do you use? the concept is genius!
PS- thanks for letting me relive my wedding through your blog ;) haha
Um, I love Italian food so I will have to talk Mike into going there!
Your hair in that wedding is adorable. Classic for sure!
Funny, I just booked a hair appointment this morning. I tend to rock homeless hair. This is my attempt to only look half homeless.
My favorite dry shampoo is this brand called Psssssst and the bottle looks like it was leftover from the 70′s. Its awesome though and at Walgreens.

What dry shampoo are you using? I’m obsessed with Suave’s dry shampoo – best part is its only 3 dollars! Lets do dinner soon :)
Ever since the great hair chop of 2013, I’ve worn my hair down more often than probably the three years previous combined. And it is LOVELY.
Luckily, since I hate styling my hair every day, the #ecsdontsleep beanie has been my go-to this winter. Bed-head? Greasy hair? tangles?
Nope, just orange.
