I failed a bit on July 4th. I took one photo and it is horribly sub-par.
If anything, that is a sign that I was having a great time celebrating America’s holiday with my stepfamily and friends.
As great as July 4th was, the 5th was a bit more awesome. See that boat down there on the left? Our stepuncle lives on it and is starting to sell a fancy service to watch the America’s Cup boat race. We were the lucky guinea pigs that got to experience the trial run of the trip around the SF Bay.
At 10, about 20 of us boarded the yacht and departed from Alameda.
A champagne toast and a few appetizers got the party started.
Before we knew it, we made it into the city.
It. Was. BEAUTIFUL.
We saw great views of the skyline and got up close and personal with Alcatraz.
It was very windy and a bit overcast near the Golden Gate Bridge.
My favorite spot was the front of the yacht. Champagne and Sperrys. Check, check.
It sure was nice to see the city from a different perspective. I’ve never done a boat ride in the Bay and it was fun to snap touristy pics of the Transamerica Pyramid and Coit Tower.
The captain even stepped aside so I could pose.
It was such a fun ride and I felt very lucky to be included!
Hope your Fourth (or Fifth) was great!
