I was going to post this on Wednesday, but all I did was upload photos. Better late than never?
On Tuesday night I met Kyle for dinner in Palo Alto. We revisited Curry Up Now so I could satisfy my craving for warm, comforting Indian food. I ordered the Naughty Naan (naan, chicken tikka masala, cheese, greens, onions , shaved jalapenos) and added a lot of hot sauce. Woo! It was spicy.
Kyle ordered a $5 “slice” of pizza from the NY style place next door…..
Isn’t that massive?
After dinner we did something a little unusual, we picked up a couch!
Kyle’s work office is moving locations, so they raffled off couches, chairs, and file cabinets. Kyle put his name in the hat and ended up winning one of the brown leather couches. We fit 90% of the couch in the back of his Explorer and just drove a few freeway exits with the trunk wide open.
So this will be “our” couch because in November I’ll be moving in to his place. #newroommate #nbd
On Wednesday I had a really cool work-related event at The Bay Club (Silicon Valley location). I hear about The Bay Club all the time on my favorite morning radio show, Sarah & Vinnie, on Alice 97.3.
When I stepped inside the lush lobby I was blown away. First of all, there’s a built-in Starbucks (!!!!) plenty of leather seats, and crisp flat screen TVs. I went on a tour of the facility and saw the cycle studio, pilates room, yoga studio, fitness room (ex. body pump and zumba classes), squash courts, weights room and cardio area.
The cardio space is clean and the machines are fancy. I had an hour to spare before the meeting so I hopped on to a treadmill and ran 5 miles, read my favorite blogs (I spy SCB!), and watched some show about NeNe on Bravo.
Other than NeNe’s whining, I loved every minute of those 5 miles. Maybe I just need a glamorous gym to motivate me to run far on a treadmill these days? hmmmm….
I showered in the gorgeous locker room (seriously it was quite lush) and met the group of Marketo users downstairs for 2 hours of engagement program how-tos.
After the user group meeting I went back upstairs to the locker room and enjoyed the steam room for a bit. I love those things.
Question: How much does your gym membership cost/month?
I think the Bay Club is about $170/month including discounts. I pay $75 for 24 Hour Fitness and I really want to find a cheaper alternative. The only thing that worries me about canceling my gym membership is that I won’t actually run outside in the cold weather.
