My blue superhero jumpsuit, wacky coworkers, and The Melt.

Doesn’t Super Bowl Sunday seem like decades ago? Remember left shark? And Missy Elliott? And the crazy 2 minute ending??

Where I last left off, our family had enjoyed a crab feed and I was about to do my “long run” before the BIG GAME.

super-bowl-01

I mapped a 7 mile loop around Stanford and Palo Alto. It took me exactly 1 hour including two red light stops (and that photo op). I enjoyed every minute of the run and even explored some new streets with gorgeous homes. I need to run around outside more, especially near Stanford.

Post run I think I showered (?) put on a Sharks shirt & 49ers leggings (team spirit!) and drove with Kyle up to SF to watch the Super Bowl at our friend Rob’s apartment. Over 20 people gathered, snacked, watched, ooh & ahh-ed… mostly at Katy Perry and the commercials. LOL

super-bowl-02

The ending was crazyyyyy. What a great game! So much better than last year’s Seahawks blow out.

Then, it was back to work. And time for jumping jacks. Clearly.

super-bowl-03

One thing I love about the job: The People… we are a wacky, wacky bunch.

Exhibit A: Joe’s charging cord monocle.

super-bowl-04

Exhibit B: Razor scooter tricks.

super-bowl-05

On Tuesday night (this was lasssst week peeps), I went to my mom’s house since I was already in the South Bay following a meeting. Shirley made dinner and while we ate we shared our rose & thorn for the day (such a good table topic). Then, Nicole and I drove to the grocery store to get ice cream. Pretty rad night.

super-bowl-06

On Wednesday we had lunch catered and a big cloud CRM company *cough* gifted us Kara’s Cupcakes. Talk about a sweet treat!

super-bowl-07

We also had Arts & Crafts hour while prepping for an event happening the following day.

super-bowl-08

Wednesday night, we all went offsite for a happy hour at St. James Gate. Who knew this random place near auto repair shops would be so big? They have live music multiple nights a week, a huge outdoor patio, and space for ping pong, billiards, and karaoke. Definitely a good spot!

super-bowl-10

And if enough stuff hadn’t already happened on Wednesday….. Kyle and I walked to his favorite Mexican spot, La Morenita, for a late bite to eat. Their (rotisserie?) chicken tostadas are super good!

super-bowl-11

Thursday morning (after like 2 hours of sleep, blerg) I drove up to SF for a SaaS Exec event. Our company had a pretty big presence (insert ginormous booth) and our CEO spoke on a panel.

super-bowl-12

They had great food too…. My absolute favorite jalapeno chips ever (TIM’s!!!) + salmon + they brought out whole candy bars during the afternoon.

super-bowl-13

And I had an opportunity to reprise my role as Sally the Customer Success superhero.

super-bowl-14

Gotta fight churn, ya know?

Although it was a great event, it was SERIOUSLY lacking female representation. As a sponsor of the event, we had ~7 women present. I only saw maybe 15 other women the whole time. (Side note: my coworker Sam shared this NYT article about the lopsided perception of men & women who offer to help in the workplace. Great read!)

super-bowl-15

Last Friday was fairly basic, minus dinner at The Melt in Stanford Shopping Center.

super-bowl-17

For some reason, they sent us a “Buy $20, Take $10 Off” coupon so Kyle and I trekked over during the rainstorm and shared a cookies & cream shake + cheese fries. We both ordered chicken sandwiches (mine with mushrooms & mustard, his with buffalo sauce). Once we got home, we watched two episodes of Silicon Valley and hit the hay.

super-bowl-18

The following day (Saturday) was super fun and deserves to be the highlight of it’s own post so I’ll save that for next time.

If you could describe your coworkers in one word, what would it be?

What do you do when you’re bored on Caltrain headed to day 2 of Dreamforce? (the biggest cloud/tech conference ever… Nicole’s here too!!)

You remember this tiny corner of the internet where you and your sister used to blog and decide to post a quick update!

IMG_8754.JPG

Side note: you used to be able to resize photos on the WordPress mobile app, where did that feature go!?

Dreamforce is always an interesting time. Even more interesting though is how today is Game 3 of the NLCS showdown between the Giants and Cardinals and the whole city is buzzing with Orange and Black. I love this time of year :)

This is basically a St. Louis week all around. Why? Well we’re playing the Cardinals, the 49ers beat the Rams last night, and on Thursday I’ll be flying to STL with my mom and stepdad for this…

IMG_8768.JPG

You wouldn’t know it (because I’m not blogging hardly ever) but I’ve done zero running this year (or that’s how it feels).

For the past 10 days or so I forced myself to run a little so that my body remembers what to do on Sunday. A lot of family members are running the race and it will be super embarrassing if I can’t finish! Humiliation is a good motivator :) Not to mention that I have 3 half’s in the span of 5 weeks (St. Louis, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, oh my!) So I better get my act together!

What else is new??? Well, we are moving offices for work (hello Redwood Shores and a new northbound 101 commute), last weekend my BFF Katie got married in Portland (ahh it was the most perfect wedding!!), and the two weeks before that Kyle and I were roaming around Europe — Budapest, Vienna, Salzburg, Munich, Oktoberfest.

So pretty typical. Jk.

I’d really like to make some detailed posts on my recent trips… But until then… GO GIANTS!!!!!

8 weeks ago…. I just stopped blogging for no good reason at all.

It was just before the Stagecoach country music festival in Palm Springs. I had a great time with a few of my favorite college girlfriends and fell in love with cowboy boots…

The following week, Kyle’s parents came to town (more on that later!) and I pretended to be a news anchor for a spoof video my company put together….

Meanwhile, Kyle and I kept up our weekly date nights with stuff like spicy Indian food at Darbar and a night at the theatre (watching a play put on by two of my high school friends (so talented!!))

And then…. IT HAPPENED.

Don’t freak out. Nicole and I didn’t decide to move to Canada or anything….

I’m talking about Pulse 2014, one of the defining moments for the Customer Success Industry.

Sorry, I’ll stop being dramatic.

Our company’s annual conference was a big success this year, and I couldn’t be more proud of the team I’m a part of, the company, and everyone else who helped make it so amazing….

NEW YORK CITY!!!

It’s been a while but if you made it this far, thank you for reading :) I’ll be back soon! I think I found my mojo….

Waiting in line for my newest obsession

20140419-104019.jpg

Posted by Lauren

Don’t tell my Stabucks gold card, but I’m waiting in line right now for a cop of joe from Philz Coffee… They do single drip and it’s a splurge and the line is always sooo long. Why am I here?

Well….

On Wednesday our Marketing team went on a little road trip from Mountain View to San Francisco to check out the venue for our upcoming conference.

20140419-102637.jpg

20140419-102650.jpg

I got a little snapchat happy as you can see. :) On our way back to the office, Anthony had the wise idea to get coffee so we stopped at Philz. Unlike Starbs where you have 3 generic brew options, Philz is like the 31 Flavors Baskin Robbins of coffee. I got the Philtered Soul (I love anything hazelnut) and it really hit the spot. We were all wired after!!

Other weekly highlights:

Saturday – long hike with mom and Nicole!

20140419-103243.jpg

Sunday – Kyle bought us a grill! Now we need a little table and chairs to complete the patio. Summer BBQs are on the way!

20140419-103413.jpg

Monday – Nicole came to work at Gainsight. She makes my work days extra happy.

20140419-103422.jpg

Monday/Tuesday – our dad turned one year older on Monday so we celebrated his birthday Tuesday night at the fish market. :)

20140419-103436.jpg

Tuesday – Nicole and I went to lunch at Chipotle. As a part owner of Chipotle, it makes me smile that Nicole loves Chipotle so much (in fact she JUST sent me a screenshot of a burrito bowl lol).

20140419-103529.jpg

Wednesday – we filmed the cutest video to promote our upcoming conference. You should watch it :) And, if you work with any Customer Success, Account Managers, renewals, client services, relationship managers, strategic account peeps you should tell them to go!! /end-plug

Thursday – beautiful evening run through Palo Alto. People are killin’ it with the blossoming flowers. I felt like I was running through a yummy garden the whole time.

20140419-103855.jpg

Friday – Bar class after work, ran around the Stanford track, and then caught up on Scandal on Hulu. Hot Damn! What a finale….

Saturday – enjoying my coffee… gotta get ready for a day in the city!

20140419-104448.jpg

What was the highlight of your week???
